At first, each ring was manufactured by a goldsmith. However, in order to introduce the ring into the market, it proved necessary to come up with a way to produce the ring in higher quantities.  The search for a capable manufacturer led Ina to Schoonhoven, the silver capital of The Netherlands. Together with the manufacturer, the ring was further improved and given a perfect click. The balance between strength and flexibility is crucial: the rod needed to be developed in such a way as to ensure that it clicks into the ring perfectly so that the bead is not lost, while at the same being flexible enough to continually click in and out of the ring in order to switch beads.
